Earlier, it was reported that Khayrullo Ibadullayev, an Uzbek national working as a janitor in St. Petersburg, Russia, saved the life of a child who fell from the seventh floor of a building. For his act of heroism, he will be awarded the fourth Tigran Keosayan Prize. The announcement was made by Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russia Today and the Rossiya Segodnya news agency, on her page on the social media platform X.
According to the statement, in addition to the award, Ibadullayev will receive a cash prize of one million rubles as a token of appreciation.
For reference, the prize named after Tigran Keosayan was established following an incident in the city of Buguruslan, where two kindergarten teachers protected children from an attacker armed with a knife.
The Tigran Keosayan Prize is awarded primarily to individuals who demonstrate courage and selflessness. It was founded by Margarita Simonyan to recognize inspiring acts, particularly those involving the protection of children or vulnerable individuals.
Earlier, it was also reported that rescuers from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations saved ten people stranded during a snowstorm in the Kashkadarya region.
