During a raid conducted in dormitories in southeastern Moscow, more than 70 migrants were detained, the Russian National Guard reported.

The operation was carried out with the participation of the ’’Avangard’’ OMON unit of the Moscow Main Directorate and the ’’Sword’’ OMON transport unit of the Russian National Guard, in support of the Investigative Committee, the Federal Security Service, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The security forces inspected dormitories on Shkuleva Street, checking more than 1,000 foreign nationals. The raid identified 72 individuals who had violated immigration regulations and military registration requirements.

Those detained were taken to police stations for further investigation. It has not been specified whether citizens of Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, were among the migrants held.

It is worth noting that earlier in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region, OMON officers stormed the ’’Korona’’ banquet hall during a concert of Uzbek singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev and carried out searches among migrants.

The concert took place on September 22 of this year. During the inspection, it was revealed that eight citizens of Uzbekistan had violated Russia’s residency rules. Four of them were fined and administratively deported, while the other four were placed in a temporary detention center for foreign nationals in the Krasnoyarsk region. These individuals had attended the event because Uzbek pop singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev was performing there. The concert had not been coordinated with the relevant Russian authorities and agencies, which led to the incident.

Ahror Burkhonov, spokesperson for Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk was taking immediate measures to provide the detained citizens with the necessary legal assistance.

According to the Consulate General, a similar concert previously held in Novosibirsk had been coordinated in advance with city authorities, was staged before a full audience, and was warmly received by spectators. At the same time, it was emphasized that such raids by law enforcement bodies in the Krasnoyarsk region must have a legal basis and should not obstruct cultural events. In order to provide a legal assessment of the actions of the security forces in this Russian region, all necessary documents have been submitted to the local law enforcement authorities. Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency also announced that a licensed lawyer had been dispatched to the scene to protect the rights and interests of citizens.

Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the nationwide ’’Yuksalish’’ movement and a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, stated that involving special units such as OMON in such cases was completely unnecessary.
