Shavkat Mirziyoyev launches tree planting under the “Yashil Makon” project

Today, April 1, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a tree-planting event held within the framework of the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project. This was reported by the presidential press service.
According to the report, a National Dendrology Park is being established on 108 hectares at the site where today’s event is taking place.
On the grounds of the Green University located there, an in vitro laboratory, as well as centers for medicinal plants, seed production, and selection, are also set to begin operations this year under the “science-project-practice” model.
The President expressed sincere gratitude to Ismail Belen, Chair of the United Nations Forum on Forests, Juliette Biao, Director of the forum’s secretariat, representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreign states in Uzbekistan, and all other participants attending the event.
After that, together with the participants, the President planted ornamental saplings on the first five hectares of the National Dendrology Park.
At the same time, nearly 21,000 citizens across the country are expected to plant 88,000 saplings on 164 hectares of land.
