A former Uzbek official seeking to purchase a cow was apprehended in Russia. The individual, hailing from Uzbekistan, was apprehended in the Saratov region, as per a report from the local prosecutor's office.

The individual in question secured a loan of 2 billion soums from a bank in June 2021, ostensibly for buying a cow. Subsequently, the loan recipient left the country.

Authorities intercepted the debtor at the border of the Saratov region and Kazakhstan. A case has been filed against the accused by the police.

“Currently, the immigrant is under detention, awaiting transfer to Uzbekistan's security forces,” the report stated.

Interestingly, the detained individual had previously overseen an agricultural enterprise in Uzbekistan, the report reveals.

Previously, in Kirov, Russia, another Uzbek citizen, wanted internationally, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in human trafficking.
