Alisher Qodirov, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and leader of the “Milliy Tiklanish” party, commented on Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov’s statements, saying that his reckless remarks reflect his level of helplessness and vulnerability. Qodirov shared his view on his Telegram channel.
He noted that statements from Russian chauvinists are not new and should be viewed cautiously, especially calls that violate international law or provoke military actions in Central Asia.
“In Uzbekistan, conducting a mutually beneficial and pragmatic foreign policy, as well as cooperating with all friendly countries based on internationally recognized principles of law, remains a cornerstone of state policy. Unrelenting statements in Russian media contradict and undermine the spirit of broad strategic partnership and alliance-level relations between the two countries,” Qodirov said.
He emphasized that Central Asia is a region of security, stability, and neighborly cooperation, rapidly developing and opening new opportunities for growth and collaboration. At the same time, it is a region capable of responding firmly to any aggression when necessary.
Qodirov stressed that Solovyov’s reckless statements only indicate his helplessness and vulnerability.
It is worth noting that last week, the Kremlin-aligned Russian propagandist suggested in a live broadcast that Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine should also be conducted in other regions under Russia’s influence, including Central Asian countries and Armenia.
