Teenagers killed in street race in Surkhandarya (video)

Two people died in a race between a Damas and a Nexia in Uzun district of Surkhandarya region. The Road Safety Service reported the incident.

According to the report, the accident occurred at around 11:50 p.m. on May 28 on the 132nd kilometre of the D-169 highway, which passes through the Chaqar mahalla in Uzun district.

A 17-year-old teenager was driving a Damas with four of his peers inside. At the same time, he allegedly began racing with a Nexia driven by a 20-year-old acquaintance travelling in the same direction. The Nexia driver also did not have a driving licence.

As a result, a road accident involving the two vehicles occurred. The underage driver of the Damas and one passenger in the Nexia died in the crash. The remaining participants were taken to a medical facility with injuries of varying severity.

Earlier, it was reported that a road accident involving a Nexia-2 and an Onix occurred in Quva district of Fergana region, killing one of the drivers.
