The university is one of the largest and leading medical higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Established on the rich traditions of the national medical school, it has now become a modern center for training highly qualified doctors. By combining classical education with innovative technologies, the university has become especially appealing to international students.
At present, the university offers education through 13 faculties and 112 departments. It provides 15 undergraduate programs, 57 specialties in master’s and clinical residency programs, and 42 doctoral specializations. More than 33,000 students study at the university, including over 4,300 international students. This further strengthens the university’s international standing.

Its academic potential is also strong. More than 2,000 faculty members work at the university, including hundreds of Doctors of Science, professors, and PhD specialists. This gives students access to high-quality and up-to-date education.
Special attention is given to creating comfortable conditions for international students. Instruction is offered in Uzbek, Russian, and English, which makes the university accessible to students from different countries.

Great importance is placed on integrating theory with practice. Through more than 10 modern laboratories, over 360 clinical training bases, and innovative teaching methods, students gain real medical experience. In recent years, dozens of new laboratories have been established, academic buildings have been reconstructed, and a modern campus-style infrastructure has been developed.
The material and technical base is highly developed. The university has thousands of classrooms, modern laboratories, simulation centers, electronic libraries, sports complexes, high-speed Wi-Fi, more than 900 computers, and classrooms equipped with modern information technologies. Modern dormitories with a capacity of 6,000 places provide major convenience for international students.

Administrative and educational processes have been digitalized. Electronic systems such as document management, distance-learning platforms, an electronic library and journal, Face ID, Uni TEST, e-queue services, artificial intelligence, VR and AR technologies, and a Student Portfolio system have been launched. These tools provide students with broad opportunities.
The admission of more than 5,000 students for the 2025/2026 academic year shows that interest in the university continues to grow year by year. Every year, thousands of students successfully graduate and begin their careers in medicine.

The university’s international reputation is also growing. Twenty-seven of its educational programs have received international accreditation based on WFME and ECAQA standards.
International students highly value the quality of education, safety, developed infrastructure, and friendly environment. They regard the university as offering one of the best combinations of affordable tuition, high-quality education, extensive clinical practice, and comprehensive support. Students are also assisted with adaptation through cultural activities ranging from document submission and visa processing to the celebration of national holidays.

The university is recognized by WFME, the National Medical Commission of India, and other international organizations. Its diploma is internationally recognized, and graduates are able to work in their home countries as well as in many countries around the world.
The success of Indian graduates is a particular source of pride. Over the past two years, they have achieved high scores in examinations, which confirms the high standard of training at the university.
For this reason, competition among international applicants is very strong. In the current academic year, more than 2,500 foreign citizens submitted applications, and more than 500 of them successfully passed the interview stage and were admitted.
In March 2026, the university hosted the SIMPULSON-2026 international conference on simulation-based education in healthcare. The conference was held with the participation of the university, the International Society for Simulation, and the National Medical Commission of India. It brought together many international participants, including Abhijat Sheth, Chairman of the National Medical Commission of India, as well as Indian experts, specialists, and students. The event once again confirmed the university’s leading position in medical education.

The supportive environment and warm attitude created for international students help them adapt quickly. A student from India, Rishabh, says:
“I used to study in Ukraine, but due to the war I was forced to transfer. Choosing this university was one of the best decisions of my life. Here, I feel respected and supported.
The teachers are highly experienced. The education is not only theoretical but also practice-oriented. This gives us the opportunity to gain clinical experience.
Uzbekistan has given me not only education, but also the chance to feel that I truly belong here.”
According to second-year student Saliq Qadri, choosing this university is something he has never regretted. He says the university offers excellent simulation centers, real clinical practice, and attentive teachers.
“The living conditions are excellent — clean dormitories, Indian food, and complete safety. The quality of education is of the highest standard,” says fourth-year student Mohammad Hamdani.
According to third-year student Saloni, she chose the university because of its English-language instruction and strong reputation among Indian students. She says teachers provide individual support, and the campus is equipped with the latest technology.
“Transferring my studies to Tashkent State Medical University was the best decision. Thanks to the support and cultural activities, I feel at home here. The education is high-quality — we gain deep knowledge and practical skills,” says fifth-year student Kanishk Parikh Tapasvi.
In conclusion, the combination of modern infrastructure, strong academic potential, international openness, and human values is turning the university into a truly comfortable and reliable place of study for international students.
