In Tashkent, a driver committed a traffic accident under the influence of drugs

Over 100 kilos of drugs seized in Uzbekistan in two days  

Today, April 19, a Lacetti driver caused a traffic accident under the influence of drugs in the Chilonzor district of Tashkent. This was reported by the Road Traffic Safety Service.

It is reported that at 07:30, a road patrol inspector on duty at the intersection of Tihai and Chorbag streets in Chilonzor district witnessed the accident and attempted to stop the Lacetti vehicle, which had an unknown license plate, using loudspeakers. The driver tried to flee the scene, causing technical damage to two Damas vehicles.

According to the traffic police officer, the car did not obey the stop signal, and the driver attempted to escape, damaging two parked cars. Following the response measures, the vehicle was stopped, and upon checking the driver and passengers, unknown substances were found inside the car, along with items used for drug consumption. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs.

Currently, the driver and one passenger have been detained in connection with the incident. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3, Clause “g” of Article 277 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code, and investigative measures have been launched. Efforts are also underway to legally assess the actions of the other passengers.
