Electric bus accident in Tashkent leaves teenage girl injured (video)

A video has been circulating on social networks showing an electric bus running over an 18-year-old girl in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent. The footage shows the girl near a bus stop when the driver, failing to notice her, first struck her and then ran over her. “Tashshahartranskhizmat” JSC issued a statement regarding the incident.

According to the company, the accident occurred on September 19 at 06:53. The driver of a Yutong electric bus on route No. 57, operated by the 4th Bus Palace branch, H.S., born in 2000, was driving along Choshtepa Street and entering the final stop of Erkin Kurgan when the bus struck pedestrian F.M., born in 2007.

“The driver immediately stopped the bus and took the injured pedestrian to the hospital, where she received first aid. The pedestrian is currently in stable condition,” the company said.

The Tashkent city police department’s Traffic Police Division has registered the incident and launched a preliminary investigation.

It should be noted that earlier in Syrdarya district, Syrdarya region, two minors died in a serious traffic accident. A 15-year-old boy, with his father’s permission, was driving a Lacetti car when he lost control at high speed and veered into a roadside ditch. Two minor passengers were killed at the scene, while the driver was hospitalized in intensive care.
