BYD runs red light and crashes into bus in Tashkent

A road accident involving a Yutong bus and a BYD passenger car occurred in Tashkent today, June 2. Toshshahartransxizmat JSC reported the incident.

The accident took place at around 3:28 p.m. at the intersection of Nukus and Taras Shevchenko streets in Mirobod district. According to the report, the driver of bus No. 16 was turning onto Taras Shevchenko Street when the driver of a BYD car, travelling in the opposite direction, ignored a red traffic light at the intersection. As a result, the two vehicles collided.

According to preliminary information, both drivers were taken by ambulance to Republican Clinical Hospital No. 1.

The road accident was documented in accordance with the established procedure by responsible officers of the Tashkent city traffic police department.

Earlier, it was reported that a Nexia-3 car had crashed into a concrete barrier on the roadside in Tashkent’s Sergeli district. As a result of the accident, a passenger in the Nexia-3 died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
