Starting from May 7, cooling systems, or air conditioners, must be switched on in buses in Tashkent. Toshshahartransxizmat JSC reported this.
Public transport users had posted numerous complaints on social media about air conditioners not working on bus routes amid rising temperatures. The company issued an official response on the matter. According to the statement, when the outdoor temperature exceeds 28 degrees Celsius, cooling systems must be used in bus cabins. The temperature inside the cabin must be maintained at 26 degrees Celsius.
To ensure compliance with this instruction, cooling systems in bus cabins will be gradually switched on starting from May 7.
Additional measures include preventing buses with faulty air conditioning systems from operating on routes and fixing technical problems within a short period. The company also said explanatory work would be carried out with all drivers on the proper use of air conditioners.
Earlier, it was reported that more than 30,000 people had been penalized in Tashkent for failing to pay public transport fares.
