Individuals caught in Tashkent extorting money under pretense of mosque construction

A video circulating on social media shows several individuals approaching citizens under the pretext of conducting interviews, while fraudulently collecting money from them. The Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city has released information regarding the incident.
According to the department, on July 5 of this year, in a park located in the Chilanzar district of the capital, three individuals — Sh.S. (born in 2004), S.S. (born in 2001), and T.A. (born in 2004) — were caught speaking to citizens under the guise of conducting interviews and collecting donations fraudulently. They claimed the money would be used for building a mosque and supporting disabled individuals.
Following swift action by law enforcement, the identities of the suspects were confirmed. The collected money was confiscated as material evidence in the presence of witnesses.
Currently, a pre-investigation inquiry is underway by the Chilanzar District Department of Internal Affairs. According to the Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs (IIBB), a legal decision will be made upon completion of the investigation.
