New building of Tajikistan’s embassy opens in Tashkent

On March 26, as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, a ceremonial event was held to mark the opening of the new building of Tajikistan’s embassy in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.
According to the report, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon symbolically cut the ribbon and officially inaugurated the new diplomatic mission building.

The leaders toured the complex, which includes administrative buildings for the embassy and consular section, the ambassador’s residence, and housing for diplomats and their families.


At the end of the ceremony, the presidents signed the honorary guests’ book and planted a tree on the premises of the diplomatic mission.



“This event once again confirmed the strong mutual commitment to further strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,” the statement said.

Earlier, Emomali Rahmon arrived in Tashkent on a state visit. He was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and an official reception ceremony was held at the Kuksaroy residence.
Later, the two leaders held talks in a narrow format at the Kuksaroy residence and conducted the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. They also took part in a ceremony to launch major cooperation projects and attended the signing and exchange of bilateral documents following the council meeting.
