A Labo driver found in possession of 22 packages of illegal drugs was detained by law enforcement officers in Tashkent’s Mirobod district. The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs reported the arrest.
According to the report, at around 3:30 a.m., a Labo vehicle parked on one of the streets in Mirobod district aroused suspicion among patrol officers on duty in the area. When the driver was inspected in the presence of witnesses, officers found 22 packages of narcotic substances wrapped in yellow adhesive tape in his possession.
During questioning, the suspect also admitted that two additional packages of the synthetic drug mephedrone had been buried underground. He said he had obtained the substances in Yangiyul district.
It was reported that based on the collected materials, a criminal case was opened under Article 273 of the Criminal Code, which covers the illegal production, acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances with intent to sell. A preventive measure of detention has been imposed on the suspect. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
It is worth noting that earlier in Andijan, major distributors linked to one of Central Asia’s largest Telegram-based drug marketplaces, known as “Deadpool,” which has been operating in Uzbekistan since 2017 and had around 4,000 active subscribers, were detained.
