Broadway area in Tashkent to be renovated

Sayilgoh Street and adjacent areas in Tashkent, one of the city’s most popular locations and widely known as “Broadway,” will be comprehensively renovated. This was reported by the press service of the city administration.
According to the report, pedestrian walkways, crossings, lighting systems, irrigation, security and the overall appearance of the street are planned to be reviewed in line with modern requirements. Signboards and advertisements will also be regulated under a unified design code, illegal structures will be dismantled, trade activities will be brought into compliance with established standards, and video surveillance systems will be installed in public areas.
The city administration said the area’s open and creative atmosphere will be preserved. Street artists and representatives of the creative community will be able to continue their activities after the reconstruction. Public and expert opinions will also be taken into account during the preparation process.
At the same time, existing trees are being inspected under the supervision of specialists, and at least 1,000 additional trees, shrubs and ornamental plants are planned to be planted.
For reference, the area includes Sayilgoh Street, adjacent alleys, green spaces, pedestrian walkways and other elements of urban infrastructure. Broadway is considered a particularly important area, as it has historically developed as a lively cultural space where artists, musicians and city residents gather.
