Power outage reported at Tashkent Airport overnight

A partial power outage occurred at Tashkent International Airport at 02:28 on January 6, according to an official statement from Uzbekistan Airports.
The outage was caused by a minor malfunction at the Qo‘ylik substation at 02:28 local time. The statement noted that the incident did not affect aircraft takeoffs or landings, and all airport services continued to operate under normal conditions.
It was reported that the departure and arrival halls were supplied with electricity via backup diesel generators and UPS systems. Full power supply was restored by 02:49.
“We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and thank you for your understanding,” the statement said.
It is worth noting that in 2025, several areas in Andijan city were left without electricity after a fire broke out at a substation due to a short circuit.
