On April 16, the India-Uzbekistan joint military exercises titled "Friendship – 2025" officially began at the "Aundh" international training base in Pune, India. The announcement was made by the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defense.

The "Friendship" exercises, held regularly since 2019, aim to enhance and deepen military cooperation between the two countries. The drills are conducted alternately in Uzbekistan and India each year.

In 2024, military personnel from both countries participated in the "Friendship – 2024" exercises at the "Termez" field training ground in Uzbekistan, where they shared tactical experience.
The opening ceremony of the current training brought together representatives of both military delegations. Officials noted that such joint drills not only strengthen bilateral military ties but also help improve the tactical skills, knowledge, and experience of participating soldiers.

The joint military exercises are scheduled to continue until April 28.
It is worth noting that in November last year, Uzbek and Kazakh forces took part in joint special tactical training named "Dagger – 2024" at the "Forish" mountain range in Uzbekistan’s Central Military District.
