Uzbekistan's population increases

As of October 1 of this year, the population of Uzbekistan reached 38,069.1 thousand people. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

It is stated that out of this number, 18,896.6 thousand (49.6 percent) are women, and 19,172.5 thousand (50.4 percent) are men. The population growth increased by 713.7 thousand people, or 1.9 percent, compared to the corresponding period last year. As of 9:50 a.m. on August 28 of this year, the permanent population of Uzbekistan was 38 million and 25 people.

By permanent residence area, 19,396.3 thousand people (51 percent) reside in urban areas, and 18,672.8 thousand people (49 percent) live in rural areas.

During the current year, 177 thousand marriages were registered in the country, while 35.4 thousand divorces were recorded.

According to external migration data, 1,133 people immigrated to the country and 7,585 people emigrated during the nine months of 2025.
