At the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that tourism and modern agro-industry have become among the main driver sectors of the economy in regional development.

According to the Head of State, the number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan over the past five months increased by 27% and reached 5.5 million. The country has the potential to receive 15 million to 20 million foreign tourists annually and provide them with tourism services worth at least $15 billion.

The President noted that, along with tourism centers such as Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, other regions also have great opportunities to develop tourism infrastructure and attract investment.

At the same time, large-scale reforms are being carried out to transform traditional agriculture into modern agribusiness. Uzbekistan currently exports fruits and vegetables worth $3.5 billion annually to more than 70 countries and has developed its own agro-brand.

Addressing the forum participants, the President called on them to visit the regions, closely study the available opportunities and implement joint projects based on their extensive experience and technologies.

It was also emphasized that all regional governors should closely assist investors and provide them with comprehensive support.
