Uzbekistan placed in third pot for World Cup draw

The Uzbekistan national football team has been placed in the third pot for the upcoming World Cup draw, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) reported.
According to FIFA, which released information about the draw pots for the 2026 World Cup, Uzbekistan will be drawn from Pot 3.
For context, the World Cup draw ceremony will take place on December 5 at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., USA. The event will be attended by UFA officials, Uzbekistan national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro, his coaching staff, and Uzbek football legend Mirjalol Qosimov, who has been specially invited by FIFA.
It is worth noting that following the international break in November, FIFA’s rankings were updated. After victories against Egypt and Iran, Uzbekistan rose five places to 50th in the world rankings. The national team also holds fifth place among Asian teams.
