Snow possible in Uzbekistan this week

Moist and cool air masses are expected to move into Uzbekistan between April 14 and 17, according to an urgent warning issued by Uzhydromet.

According to the report, rain is expected in the northwestern regions on April 14, and across most parts of the country between April 15 and 17. In some areas, precipitation may be heavy, and thunderstorms are possible.

In high mountainous areas, rain is expected to turn into snow.

Wind speeds across parts of the country may reach 15–20 meters per second, with gusts of up to 25–28 meters per second in some locations. Dust storms are also possible in certain areas on April 14 and 15.

Daytime temperatures are expected to gradually drop to 13–16°C between April 15 and 17.

Earlier, authorities had also warned that heavy rainfall during this period could lead to mudflows and flash floods in foothill and mountainous regions of Uzbekistan.
