Admissions to higher education institutions in Uzbekistan conclude

Today, June 26, online registration for bachelor’s degree programs at higher education institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year has officially concluded. This was reported by the Ministry of Higher Education.

According to the results of the admissions process, a total of 732,411 applicants completed online registration.

The distribution of applicants by language of instruction is as follows:

- Uzbek language – 644,027 applicants
- Russian language – 71,476 applicants
- Karakalpak language – 14,959 applicants
- Other languages – 1,949 applicants

The distribution by gender is as follows:

- Men – 346,299 applicants
- Women – 386,112 applicants

It is noted that registered applicants can make payments for the test until 11:59 p.m. today, June 26.

For comparison, in the previous academic year, 894,279 applicants registered online for bachelor's degree programs, colleges, and technical schools. Following the entrance exams, 186,871 applicants were recommended for undergraduate studies.

The Ministry reminds that registration for the 2025/2026 academic year began on June 5 of this year. Starting from 2024, entrance exams for admission to state higher and professional educational institutions (excluding vocational schools) are held based on the principle of “first test, then selection.” Under this system, applicants first participate in the competition for undergraduate programs based on their test scores and then compete for places in professional educational institutions.

Entrance exams for higher and professional educational institutions are scheduled for July and August.

It is also worth noting that, according to the presidential decree “On Additional Measures to Ensure the Quality of Education and Improve the System of Educational Services,” starting from this academic year, admission to all correspondence (distance) education programs in Uzbekistan has been completely closed.
