The matches with the highest attendance after the first round of the 2026 World Cup group stage have been announced. The Mexico vs South Africa and Uzbekistan vs Colombia matches topped the ranking. FIFA reported this.

According to the report, 80,824 fans watched both the Mexico vs South Africa and Uzbekistan vs Colombia matches live at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The Brazil vs Morocco match ranked third, with 80,663 fans in attendance.

The top 10 most-attended matches also included the following games:

  • France vs Senegal — 80,545 spectators;
  • United States vs Paraguay — 70,492;
  • England vs Croatia — 70,389;
  • Iran vs New Zealand — 70,108;
  • Netherlands vs Japan — 69,285;
  • Argentina vs Algeria — 69,045;
  • Portugal vs DR Congo — 68,777.

Thus, Uzbekistan’s debut match at the World Cup was recorded as one of the matches that attracted the largest audience of the tournament.

Uzbekistan’s national team played against Colombia in the first round and suffered a 3-1 defeat. Uzbekistan’s first-ever World Cup goal was scored by Abbosbek Fayzullayev.
