Holding festivals is more important than paving the streets - Ozodbek Nazarbekov (video)

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, has advertised a private university.

"Admissions are ongoing at the university, and I would like to take this opportunity to recommend our youth to pursue their studies here", the minister said in the promotional video.

The promotional video was posted on the official page of the private university on July 4.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Minister Nazarbekov has appeared in an advertisement. Last year, a clothing store commercial featuring the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan and People’s Artist, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, was circulated. After the incident was reviewed by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights, the store was fined, while the minister was found not guilty. At that time, the adviser to the chairman of the committee, Otabek Usmonov, explained why the minister was cleared of responsibility, stating that since Nazarbekov had not disseminated the advertisement anywhere, he was not formally involved in its circulation. He was neither the advertiser, nor the producer, nor the distributor of the commercial.

It is worth saying that according to Article 16 of the law “On advertising”, it is prohibited to indicate in advertisements that a product has been approved by state bodies or their officials.
