A video circulating on social media allegedly shows a man beating a woman and threatening her with a knife in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region. Bobur Tulaganov, spokesperson for the regional Main Department of Internal Affairs, has commented on the incident.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by officers of the district's Internal Affairs Department, the incident occurred on July 31 at around 5:00 a.m. A 27-year-old man and his 20-year-old wife, residents of Yangiyul, got into a domestic dispute at their home.
As a result of the argument, the woman punctured the tire of her husband’s car using a kitchen knife taken from the house. When the husband attempted to take the knife from her, she refused to give it up. Authorities noted that the couple had not previously reported this altercation to law enforcement.
An official investigation is currently underway. Legal measures will be taken by the law. During the inquiry, the Internal Affairs Department conducted preventive conversations with the individuals involved, and the family situation is being monitored by local “neighborhood seven” representatives.
It should be recalled that earlier in the Chinaz district of the Tashkent region, a man was sentenced to 22 years in prison for fatally stabbing his wife and mother-in-law.
