Tashkent's Main Department of Internal Affairs has issued an official statement in response to claims made by TV presenter Khusnora Shodieva, who alleged on Instagram that her mother was insulted by a traffic patrol officer in the capital.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on April 16 on Nukus Street in Tashkent. A Chevrolet Equinox vehicle was reportedly obstructing the third and fourth lanes of the road, which led to an artificial traffic jam and caused frustration among other drivers intending to use the blocked lane.

The traffic officer on duty approached the vehicle and attempted to address the issue. He claims that he explained the situation and instructed the driver to move forward. However, the woman in the car, who was allegedly listening to loud music, did not hear him initially. As a result, the officer raised his voice to convey the message.

“I did not use any offensive language towards the driver of the Equinox. I acted strictly in accordance with the law,” the officer stated.

Authorities confirmed that a formal investigation is ongoing, and a legal assessment of the incident will be provided upon its conclusion.
