Students penalized after roadside graduation photo shoot in Tashkent

A video showing a group of students stopping in the middle of a road for a photo shoot has gone viral on social media, sparking public discussion. Authorities have since taken action against the students involved, according to the “Millar” program.

The incident reportedly took place in the Yunusobod district of Tashkent. The graduating students walked onto a pedestrian crossing and staged a photo shoot, disrupting traffic.

The Traffic Safety Department of the Main Department of Internal Affairs in Tashkent city filed an administrative report against the students for violating traffic rules under Article 138 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which covers violations committed by pedestrians and other road users. The students were also given preventive warnings through official interviews.

Following the incident, traffic enforcement officers carried out raids targeting drivers who had violated stopping and parking regulations near the university. These violations had contributed to artificial traffic jams. Administrative measures were taken accordingly against the drivers as well.
