A man from the Jizzakh region who deliberately evaded providing financial support for his children and hid from court officers was found at his second wife’s mother’s house, the regional office of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau reported.

According to the information, the bureau’s Zomin district branch had declared a search for debtor G.R. for failing to make alimony payments.

During an operational search carried out by the Search Department of the Jizzakh regional bureau, the man was discovered doing household chores at his second wife’s mother’s residence.

The man’s alimony debt exceeded 62 million soums, and he has been handed over to a court officer.

Interestingly, during the search, he attempted to escape again under the pretext of changing his slippers, but this time, luck was not on his side.

It is worth noting that earlier in Fergana, a father who tried to avoid paying alimony by hiding behind a curtain was sentenced to prison. Last year, another man who evaded alimony payments in Kashkadarya was found under blankets at his home, while others were discovered in various places, in the basements of houses in Namangan and Surkhandarya, at a poultry farm in Khorezm, in a nightclub in Fergana city, at an aunt’s house in Andijan, and at a grandmother’s home in Bukhara. In a separate incident, a father in Surkhandarya who failed to pay child support for his underage child was caught at his brother’s wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, in Andijan, another father hiding from alimony payments was found behind roofing sheets at his unfinished house, and in the Samarkand region, a similar offender was discovered inside a wardrobe.
