The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia announced that, starting from the Hajj 2026 season, pilgrims will be granted Hajj visas only if they possess a medical fitness certificate obtained through the Nusuk platform. The statement was reported by the Hajj and Umrah Center under the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan.
According to the report, the Saudi Ministry of Health has instructed all relevant ministries and institutions involved in organizing the pilgrimage to carefully examine each pilgrim and determine whether they have any medical conditions that would make them unfit for the journey. This requirement aims to ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims.
It will not be possible to obtain a Hajj visa without undergoing medical examinations and receiving the appropriate certificate.
The statement listed the following categories of pilgrims who will not be permitted to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage:
- Kidney failure requiring dialysis;
- Heart failure that manifests even under minimal physical exertion;
- Chronic lung diseases requiring periodic or continuous oxygen therapy;
- Advanced stages of liver cirrhosis with signs of liver failure;
- Severe mental or neurological disorders;
- Senile dementia;
- The last trimester of pregnancy or any pregnancy, considered high-risk;
- Active infectious diseases (including open tuberculosis, hemorrhagic fevers, etc.);
- Active cancer cases undergoing chemotherapy or other immunosuppressive treatments.
The Ministry of Hajj stated that in cases where these requirements are violated or false information is provided, relevant measures will be taken by the ministry.
The Republican Public Council for Organizing and Conducting Hajj and Umrah called on all pilgrims to strictly adhere to these rules, emphasizing that they are designed to protect the health and lives of participants in the Hajj pilgrimage.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Interior detained more than 75,000 individuals for violating Hajj regulations.
