In Uzbekistan, part of the tuition fees for children from low-income families attending private kindergartens will be covered by the state. This is stated in the regulation titled “On the procedure for reimbursing part of parental payments from the State Budget to private family preschool educational institutions that admit children from families included in the Register of Low-Income Households.”
According to the regulation, the list of children from certain categories of families eligible for partial compensation of kindergarten fees will be automatically generated through the information system.
To compensate family-type non-state preschool institutions (MPTTs) for these payments, the state will allocate funds equivalent to 40 percent of the parental payment rate set for public kindergartens operating under a nine-hour schedule in the respective region.
The compensation will be provided to family-type MPTTs based on the actual number of children from low-income families attending the institution. However, this compensation will not exceed 15 percent of the total number of places specified in the agreement between the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the family-type MPTT.
It is worth noting that earlier, it was announced that the state would also introduce compensation for low-income families to help cover electricity and gas expenses.
