On March 28 of this year, a child identified as Sh. Sh.., born in 2023, died of electric shock in a private kindergarten located in the Bukhara district of the Bukhara region. The incident occurred due to the negligence of an educator at the preschool educational institution owned by individual entrepreneur X.O., according to the regional prosecutor’s office.

On April 2, the district prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Failure to Perform Professional Duties).

The preliminary investigation revealed that the educator, M.D., employed at the non-state preschool institution, failed to fulfill essential professional responsibilities. These included ensuring the safety and well-being of children, taking into account their age and individual characteristics, and adhering to technical and fire safety regulations. It was found that the educator left the assigned group of children unattended, which led to the tragic incident. The criminal case was forwarded to court on June 18 for further consideration.

It is worth recalling that earlier in the Namangan district of the Namangan region, a teacher in a private kindergarten was filmed scolding and mistreating children. Preventive measures were taken, including a formal warning and explanatory work to prevent similar incidents in the future.
