Earlier, reports emerged that a 26-year-old Uzbek woman who had traveled to South Korea for work was found dead in her home. It has been confirmed that she died by suicide. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, since the day of the incident, Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Seoul has been cooperating with South Korean law enforcement agencies to clarify the circumstances of the woman’s death and to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.

To provide detailed information on the ongoing investigation, the deceased’s mother, Feruza Alimbekova, was recently invited to South Korea with the assistance of the embassy and local authorities.

On April 14, a meeting was held with officials from the Pyeongtaek City Police, who are conducting the investigation, attended by the deceased’s mother, her lawyer, and embassy staff.

During the meeting, representatives of the Korean police provided information on additional investigative measures carried out regarding the circumstances of the Uzbek citizen’s death.

According to South Korean law enforcement authorities, preliminary investigation and forensic examination results found no signs of homicide in the death of Nozima Kim.

In addition, sealed CCTV footage recorded on the night of the incident—from the area around the residence, the hospital where Nozima first received emergency medical assistance, and the “Sonmu” hospital in Pyeongtaek—was shown to the deceased’s mother and her lawyer for informational purposes.

During the meeting, the results of an in-depth forensic examination conducted by the National Forensic Service in Pyeongtaek were also presented.

According to these findings, Nozima Kim’s death was classified as suicide. It was also reported that DNA, blood, and fingerprint analyses revealed no traces of toxic or medicinal substances, and no signs of injuries caused by blunt force were found on her body.

Korean police also stated that various images of the deceased circulating on social media were not part of the investigation and that distributing such materials is prohibited under Korean law.

At the meeting, representatives of the Pyeongtaek City Police noted that the investigation is ongoing and that its results will be communicated to the deceased’s relatives.

“The case has been taken under the control of our embassy, which continues to cooperate with Korean police to clarify the circumstances of the death.

At the same time, the embassy calls on our citizens to respect the memory of the deceased compatriot and to refrain from spreading unverified, inaccurate, or unfounded information,” the ministry said in a statement.

Earlier, it was reported that the body of 46-year-old Dilafruz Choliyyeva had been found in Turkey’s Balikesir province and returned to Uzbekistan. Four individuals suspected of committing the crime were detained, and the investigation is ongoing.
