Mirziyoyev awards players and coaches of the national football team

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has awarded 25 players of the Uzbekistan national football team, the head coach, and several officials in recognition of their historic achievement in qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The presidential decree, titled “On Awarding a Group of Members and Coaches of the Uzbekistan National Football Team”, was signed on June 6.

According to the decree, the recipients were honored for their significant contributions to the development and popularization of sports in Uzbekistan, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and their professionalism, courage, and determination during the World Cup qualifiers. The awards also recognize their role in securing a historic victory — earning Uzbekistan’s first-ever ticket to the World Cup — and for their efforts in enhancing the international standing of New Uzbekistan and inspiring patriotism among the younger generation.
