On July 15, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting. The meeting took place in the Chinese city of Tianjin.

Saidov, writing on his official social media page, stated that he conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Xi Jinping.

“During our meeting, my colleagues and I discussed ways to deepen cooperation in all areas, including trade, transport connectivity, and cultural exchanges. We once again emphasized our shared commitment to strengthening collaboration within the SCO, ensuring common prosperity, and promoting regional stability and development,” Saidov noted.

It is worth recalling that on June 17, during the second Central Asia–China Summit, the heads of state signed the Astana Declaration. In addition to that, an agreement on eternal good-neighborliness, friendship, and cooperation was concluded between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and China.
