Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives Jordanian delegation

On February 4, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Faisal Akif Al-Fayez, Chairman of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The press service of the Uzbek leader reported this.

At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan to the head of state.

During the talks, the parties discussed pressing issues related to further developing comprehensive partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Jordan in the framework of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level in Samarkand last year.

It was noted with satisfaction that bilateral contacts and exchanges have become more active. Mutual trade volumes and the number of joint ventures continue to grow.

The importance of intensifying the work of the “friendship groups” established in the parliaments based on a roadmap was emphasized, as well as strengthening their role in ensuring the effective implementation of agreements reached between the heads of state.

Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian fields.

In particular, the need to ensure effective outcomes of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum of leading companies to be held in Tashkent this year was highlighted.

The sides also exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
