A video has been circulating on social media showing the explosion of gas-filled balloons during the "Last Bell" celebration at a school in Uzbekistan’s Namangan region, which resulted in a schoolgirl’s hair catching fire. The regional Department of Preschool and School Education has responded to the incident.

According to official information, the explosion took place on May 24 at School No. 48 in the Chartok district. Following the incident, the school principal was dismissed for neglecting his responsibilities, grossly violating the organization’s internal labor rules, and failing to perform his duties properly. Several other shortcomings in school management were also noted.

In addition to the principal’s dismissal, disciplinary actions were taken against the deputy directors responsible for spiritual and educational affairs as well as the class teacher involved.

It is worth recalling that earlier reports stated law enforcement and military personnel would be deployed to ensure safety during "Last Bell" celebrations at schools across the country.
