A senior inspector from the Mobile Tax Inspection Department of the Tashkent Regional Tax Authority was caught red-handed accepting a $5,000 bribe, the State Security Service reported.
According to the report, the inspector abused his position by offering to resolve a mobile tax inspection at a farm specializing in horticulture and livestock in Angren city. In exchange for ensuring that no tax inspections would be conducted on the farm for one year, the inspector demanded $5,000 from the farm manager.
During a rapid operation in Ohangaron district conducted by the Tashkent Regional Department of the State Security Service in cooperation with the department under the Prosecutor General’s Office, the inspector was caught accepting the bribe with physical evidence, fully aware that his actions were illegal.
A criminal case has been opened against the official under Article 210, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (bribery), and investigative measures are ongoing.
It is worth noting that previously, an employee of “Hududgaz” in Jizzakh region was caught accepting a $6,000 bribe.
