Operations at the Askiya farmers’ market in Tashkent have been temporarily suspended due to non-compliance with fire safety requirements. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the ministry, inspections were carried out at a number of markets and commercial facilities in the capital as part of state fire safety supervision. During the inspections, serious violations of fire safety regulations were identified in several locations.
In particular, deficiencies found at the Askiya farmers’ market in Yakkasaray district showed that the market’s overall condition did not meet established requirements. As a result, the facility was disconnected from the power supply and its operations were temporarily suspended.
In addition, inspections revealed violations in certain areas of the Navro‘z farmers’ market in Mirzo Ulugbek district, Midstroy Servis LLC and the Qo‘yliq construction market in Bektemir district, Tashkent Trade Center LLC and the Abu Saxiy market in Chilanzar district, as well as the Farhod farmers’ market in Uchtepa district. Areas where deficiencies were detected at these facilities were temporarily disconnected from electricity.
Furthermore, nine blocks of the O‘rikzor shopping complex were also temporarily left without power supply.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, electricity will be restored and the facilities will resume operations once all identified deficiencies have been eliminated.
It is worth noting that earlier, operations at Block 2 of the Stroy Gorod construction market in Tashkent were also temporarily suspended.
