Man detained in Urgut while selling 1 kg of hashish for $9,300

Several crimes related to the illegal circulation of narcotic substances were uncovered in Samarkand and Namangan regions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the ministry, two people born in 2003 were detained during an operation conducted by the Samarkand regional police department in Urgut district. They were caught while selling 1 kilogram and 32 grams of hashish for $9,300 in the Mergancha mahalla.
In another case, 10 grams of hashish were found on a man born in 1986 during an operation conducted by police investigators and the State Security Service in Uychi district of Namangan region. During the inquiry, it was established that he had received the substance from another citizen born in 1962. When the second person’s home was searched, 1 kilogram and 85 grams of hashish were seized from his chicken coop.
Criminal cases have been opened in both incidents, and investigations are ongoing.
Earlier, a man who had grown poppies at his home was detained in Tashkent.
