Most common crimes committed by minors in Uzbekistan revealed

In Uzbekistan, minors most frequently committed hooliganism and fraud-related crimes over the 12 months of 2025, according to the Institute for Criminological Research.

During the reporting period, minors attempted to commit a total of 3,266 crimes, accounting for 2.1 percent of all recorded crimes nationwide. Of these, 78.2 percent, or 2,554 cases, were classified as preventable crimes, 9.8 percent, or 321 cases, as detectable crimes, and 12 percent, or 391 cases, were committed using information technologies.

The majority of crimes committed by minors, amounting to 65.5 percent, were concentrated in five regions: Tashkent city with 634 cases, Fergana region with 482 cases, Namangan region with 371 cases, Tashkent region with 345 cases, and Samarkand region with 308 cases.

Among preventable crimes committed by minors, every second offense was theft, totaling 1,313 cases. In addition, minors committed 84 cases of fraud, 193 cases of hooliganism, 87 cases of robbery, 68 cases of causing grievous bodily harm, 68 cases of vehicle theft, 36 cases of sexual assault, 17 cases of armed robbery, and 15 cases of murder.
