Case of 15-year-old girl raped in Angren to be heard in closed court

This summer, the rape of a 15-year-old girl by 4 young men in the city of Angren, Tashkent region, caused a great resonance in society and caused widespread discussion. The trial in this case is beginning. This was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.
“The Angren City Criminal Court has begun considering the criminal case against the minor victim S.Ya. (born in 2010) and S.Q. (born in 2006), Z.U. (born in 2004), D.U. (born in 2004) and A.U. (born in 2003), who are accused of committing crimes under Articles 118, 119, 28,118 and 28,119 of the Criminal Code,” Obidov said.
It is reported that this criminal case will be considered in a closed court session in accordance with the requirements of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code (public hearing of criminal cases in court). Additional information will be provided upon completion of the trial.
A criminal case was initiated on this case by the Angren city police department on April 9 of this year. Children's Ombudsman Surayyo Rakhmonova visited Angren on July 24 and examined the situation with the victim. After the sexual assault, the girl was transferred to a specialized medical institution in Tashkent.
