Earlier, it was reported that in Angren city, Tashkent region, a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by four young men. Currently, positive changes are being observed in the girl’s mental state, and she is gradually recovering from the psychological trauma. This was reported by the Children’s Ombudsman.
In July of this year, the Children’s Rights Ombudsman visited the hospital to assess the health and psychological condition of a minor, Y.S., who was a victim of a violent crime in Angren city and is currently receiving treatment at the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center. During the meeting, the girl spoke about her current health, as well as her emotional attitude and level of trust toward her parents and family members. She also shared her opinion on which family member she would like to live with after leaving the medical facility.
“Thanks to the high professionalism of the doctors and the special care and attention being provided to the girl, Y.S.’s health has improved, her body weight has increased, and her overall condition has stabilized,” the report stated.
Additionally, based on inquiries by the Children’s Rights Ombudsman, psychologists have been conducting regular sessions with Y.S. According to specialists, positive changes are now being observed in the girl, and she is gradually recovering from the psychological trauma.
Furthermore, taking into account her existing medical conditions and her current stage of post-traumatic psychological recovery, it has been emphasized that after completing her treatment course, it would be appropriate to place the girl in a neutral and safe family environment to stabilize her condition and prevent further trauma.
The investigation into this crime has been completed, the case materials have been sent to court, and it is currently at the trial stage.
After the sexual assault, the girl was transferred to a specialized medical institution in Tashkent.
It is worth noting that in connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated by the Angren City Department of Internal Affairs on April 9 of this year. The Children’s Rights Ombudsman, Surayo Rahmonova, visited Angren on July 24 to study the situation regarding the affected girl.
