Today, January 8, Uzbekistan marks the Day of Prosecutor’s Office Employees. In connection with the occasion, a ceremonial event was held during which orders and medals were presented to employees. This was reported by Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov.
During the event, Sherzod Asadov read out President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s congratulatory message addressed to employees and veterans of the prosecutor’s office. The message emphasized that as a result of reforms implemented in recent years, the prosecutor’s office has become a system closer to the people, ensuring human dignity, rights and freedoms, and lawful interests directly at the local level.
“In particular, the restoration of the violated rights of nearly 512,000 citizens last year, as well as the positive resolution of around 54,000 appeals, including nearly 29,000 from entrepreneurs, clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the prosecutor’s office,” the statement said.
It was also reported that as a result of systematic preventive efforts aimed at reducing crime at the neighborhood level, the number of high-risk neighborhoods has decreased by nearly 1.5 times. In the fight against economic crimes, thousands of offenses were prevented, and significant financial losses inflicted on state and public interests were recovered.
The President’s congratulatory message highlighted that digitalization, combating cybercrime, introducing modern technologies into investigative processes, and further strengthening openness and transparency remain pressing tasks. It was stressed that prosecutors must embody the rule of law and justice and live up to the trust placed in them by the public.
In his address, the Head of State wished employees of the prosecutor’s office great success in their responsible and honorable service.
It is worth noting that on January 7, a group of prosecutor’s office employees were awarded orders and medals under a presidential decree. At today’s ceremony, the high awards were presented by Nargiza Hakimova, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.
