Earlier, it was reported that in the Yemelyanovsky district of Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region, OMON officers stormed into the ’’Korona’’ banquet hall during a concert of Uzbek singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev and conducted searches among migrants. Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the nationwide movement ’’Yuksalish’’ and member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, stated that involving special forces such as OMON in such situations is absolutely unnecessary. He made this comment on his Telegram page.
The deputy noted that the raid carried out by security forces during the concert in Krasnoyarsk had sparked public debate. According to him, cultural events are primarily a space for friendship and communication, where the principle of respect, not intimidation, should prevail.
’’Our migrant workers must, of course, comply with local laws, but in such cases, the involvement of special forces like OMON is completely excessive. OMON is a unit designed to counter mass unrest and dangerous situations. At the concert, however, no such threat existed,’’ he wrote.
According to Bekmurodov, this is precisely why such large-scale operations are perceived not as an effort to uphold the rule of law, but rather as psychological pressure.
’’Our Russian colleagues must take measures to abandon such practices against the citizens of allied countries,’’ the deputy emphasized.
The concert in the Krasnoyarsk region took place on September 22 of this year. During the inspection, it was revealed that eight Uzbek citizens had violated the rules of stay in Russia. Four of the detained Uzbeks were fined and subjected to administrative deportation, while the remaining four were placed in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in the Krasnoyarsk region. These individuals had gone to the venue to attend a concert by Uzbek pop singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev. The concert had not been coordinated in accordance with the procedures established by the relevant Russian agencies and institutions, which became the reason for the incident.
Ahror Burkhanov, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, reported that the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk is promptly taking measures to provide the detained citizens with the necessary legal assistance.
According to the Consulate General, a similar concert previously held in Novosibirsk had been coordinated in advance with the city authorities, took place in a full hall, and was warmly received by the audience. At the same time, raids carried out by law enforcement agencies in the Krasnoyarsk region must have a legal basis and should not obstruct cultural recreation. To provide a legal assessment of the actions of local security forces in this Russian region, all necessary documents have been submitted to the law enforcement authorities of the Krasnoyarsk region. The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan also announced that a licensed lawyer had been dispatched to the scene to protect the rights and interests of the citizens.
It is worth noting that earlier, MP Bobur Bekmurodov stated that displaying Soviet flags in Uzbekistan should be regarded as contradicting the existing constitutional system and as an endorsement of alien communist ideas.
