Earlier, it was reported that children in preschool institutions in the Piskent, Buka, Akkurgan, and Kuyi Chirchik districts of the Tashkent region were poisoned. Following this incident, a criminal case was initiated against those responsible at several private enterprises providing outsourcing services, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
According to the statement, the Investigation Department under the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent region has initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 257-1 of the Criminal Code (violation of sanitary legislation or rules for combating epidemics), and a preliminary investigation is currently underway.
To ensure a thorough, comprehensive, and high-quality investigation, the Prosecutor General's Office has taken the case under its control and formed a special working group headed by First Deputy Prosecutor General Bahriddin Valiev.
As part of the investigation, a full medical examination, diagnostics, and treatment were organized for all children in preschool educational institutions supplied with food products by these outsourcing enterprises.
"Currently, there are no seriously or critically ill children among those receiving medical care. The situation is under the full control of doctors," the report states.
In addition, to prevent similar incidents in the future, the Prosecutor General's Office has initiated a review of the quality of food products supplied to all state preschool educational institutions under outsourcing contracts.
It is worth noting that earlier reports suggested that poor-quality dairy products could be the cause of the children’s illnesses. It was determined that the 3.2 percent kefir supplied to preschool institutions had been produced at one of the workshops in the Akkurgan district.
