Uzbekistan faces Italy today

Today, on 18 November, Uzbekistan’s U-17 national team will take the field against Italy in the quarterfinals of the World Cup currently being held in Qatar. The match is scheduled to kick off at 17:30 Tashkent time.

Led by head coach Islam Ismoilov, Uzbekistan advanced to the quarterfinals after notable performances in the group stage, securing victories over Paraguay and Panama. In the round of 16, they defeated Croatia 4-3 in a penalty shootout. Throughout the tournament, the Asian champions have scored 10 goals while conceding 5.

Italy’s U-17 team progressed to the knockout stage after winning all three of their group matches against Qatar, Bolivia, and South Africa. In the round of 16, the Italians beat the Czech Republic 2-0. The European side has scored 10 goals and conceded only once in the tournament so far.

The winner of the Uzbekistan–Italy match will face the victor of the Uganda–Burkina Faso quarterfinal.
