Cash payments to be phased out on buses in Bukhara

Cashless fare payment will also be introduced on public buses operating in the city of Bukhara. This is stipulated in a resolution issued by the regional governor titled “On the Introduction of a Cashless Fare Payment System on Public Transport in the City of Bukhara.”

At the first stage, starting from February 1, 2026, cashless payment will be implemented on the following bus routes:

– Route No. 2: Bukhara Bus Station – Sitora Market
– Route No. 5: F. Khojaev Neighborhood – To‘qimachi Main Terminal
– Route No. 10: Alpomish Street – Shaykhon Neighborhood
– Route No. 17B: Chorbakr Main Terminal – Airport
– Route No. 19: Karvon Market – Karvon Shopping Center
– Route No. 33: Knitwear Factory – Mohi Khosa Sanatorium
– Route No. 1: Bukhara Bus Station – Zarmanoq

Passengers on these routes will be required to pay fares exclusively through cashless payment methods.

It is worth noting that as of January 1, 2026, cash payments were already discontinued on buses operating in the city of Andijan.
