Earlier, reports emerged of acts of cruelty against cats in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, which sparked strong public outrage. The individuals responsible for killing the animals have been identified and detained, according to Bobur Tulaganov, spokesperson for the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
According to him, by court decision, a 33-year-old identified as M.Sh. was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention under Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (cruelty to animals). In addition, a 30-year-old identified as A.A. was sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention under Article 220-1 (illegal handling of weapons).
It was noted that if such actions are repeated after administrative penalties are applied, they may result in criminal liability.
Earlier, an incident was also reported in Jizzakh where a driver dragged a donkey behind a truck. The offender told law enforcement officers that he had tied the animal to the vehicle due to a technical malfunction of the truck and was forced to continue driving.
