Uzbekistan introduces electronic ID check-in for local flights

Starting today, July 1, passengers on domestic flights in Uzbekistan can check in using electronic versions of their identity documents. This follows a resolution adopted by the Cabinet.

According to the resolution, before checking in at the airport, passengers must log in to their account on the my.gov.uz website or mobile application, or the “Social Card" mobile application. From there, they should navigate to the personal information section and present the electronic identity document to the airline representative at the check-in counter.

It has been clarified that only up-to-date information available on the my.gov.uz website/mobile application or the “Social Card” mobile application will be accepted as valid identification. Copies of documents, photographs, scanned versions of a passport or ID card, or screenshots of personal information pages will not be accepted at check-in.

As a reminder, since June 1, it has also become possible to verify one’s identity without a physical ID when booking hotels in Uzbekistan through the National Tourism Unified Platform, using the MyID system.
