Starting from November 1 of this year, it will no longer be required to replace the vehicle registration certificate (’’techpassport’’) after installing a gas cylinder in a car. This is stated in the Presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 16, 2025, ’’On measures to further accelerate the introduction of digital technologies in the regions, sectors, and industries of the Republic.’’
According to the document, beginning November 1, information regarding the installation of a gas cylinder in a vehicle will be recorded electronically, eliminating the need to reissue the vehicle registration certificate.
It should be noted that at the end of September this year, Uzbekistan launched the UGaz system, designed to ensure safety at gas filling stations, protect citizens, and provide transparency in accounting. Through this system, every process at gas filling stations is recorded in real time. This allows for:
- reducing the need for manual accounting;
- preventing illegal activities;
- ensuring process transparency;
- enhancing safety for consumers.
In addition, when a vehicle enters a gas station, the system automatically checks whether it has passed the required technical inspection. If the inspection period has expired, the system immediately notifies the operator. Similarly, if the fuel type does not match or the gas cylinder is not registered, the operator receives an instant alert. This, in turn, strengthens safety measures for gas stations, drivers, and passengers.
